BOLIVIA, N.C. (WECT) – Brunswick County Health Services began scheduling vaccination appointments for people in Group 5 Wednesday March 31.
All people aged 16 or older in Groups 1-5 are now eligible. Those under age 18 must call to check where the Pfizer vaccine is available as this is the only one currently authorized for emergency use in people who are at least 16 years old.
Although the Brunswick County Public Health Call Line is closed Friday, April 2, for Good Friday, additional first-dose vaccination appointments are still available this week at the time of writing. You will receive an appointment for your second dose before you leave your first appointment. The Public Health Call Line will reopen Monday, April 5 at 9 a.m.
Walk-in scheduling is not available at the Brunswick County Government Complex.
Health officials ask that people be patient as, although supplies are increasing, there is still a high demand for vaccines. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining an appointment the first time, you are encouraged to check back as new appointments are added each week based on vaccine allocation.
If you are trying to schedule an appointment with a different vaccine provider in the county or in North Carolina (such as a pharmacy or health clinic), check their eligibility requirements to ensure they are vaccinating your group.
