WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A trio of suspects was arrested last week on drug trafficking charges following separate investigations by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said undercover narcotics detectives made controlled purchases of methamphetamine and raw heroin from Michael Seawell, 33, during a two-month investigation.
Last Friday, detectives with the agency’s Emergency Response Team and K-9 Oscar conducted a traffic stop on Seawell’s vehicle in the 8000 block of Market Street where 90 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of raw heroin, 14 grams of cocaine, and 40 grams of marijuana were seized.
Seawell was arrested and charged with numerous drug-related offenses, including trafficking in methamphetamine, heroin, and amphetamine. He was given a $750,000 bond.
On the same day, members of New Hanover County’s K-9 unit and vice detectives conducted a vehicle stop on Mercer Avenue as part of a drug investigation. During the stop, officers confiscated 33 grams of raw heroin.
Benn Hitt, 50, and Devinee Boyle, 23, both of South Carolina, were arrested and charged with numerous drug-related offenses, including trafficking in heroin.
They were both booked in jail under $400,000 bonds each.
