Leland residents invited to lend a hand during community day of service

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – The Town of Leland is inviting residents to take part in its community-wide day of service “Lend a Hand in Leland.”

The event will be on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with various volunteer opportunities:

  • Storm cleanup at a Leland area watershed with the Cape Fear River Watch
  • Helping with a home build in Leland with Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity
  • A trash pickup with We Live Here in the Westgate District
  • A tree planting also with We Live Here in the Westgate District
  • A walk audit to explore and improve neighborhood walkability with We Live Here and the AARP
