Hoggard High School to host Carolina Classic All-Star Basketball Games
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – This year’s Carolina Classic All-Star Baskebtball Games are coming to Wilmington later this month.
The top senior high school boys and girls from the Carolinas will face off at John T. Hoggard High School.
“Once again the Carolinas Classic rosters are overflowing with talent”, said Greg Grantham, representative of the North Carolina Coaches Association and executive director of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association. “The basketball action at the Classic has always been super competitive and exciting. This year promises to be no different”.
The North Carolina Boys’ team features the following players on the roster:
- Two McDonald’s All-American nominees Chadlyn Traylor of North Mecklenburg High and Isaac Ericksen of Green Level High
- Trent Steinour of Lake Norman High
- Jackson Keith of Southern Durham High
The South Carolina boys team includes Brian Sumpter of Keenan High, T. J. Lewis of Blythewood High and 2024 AAA Player of the Year Abijah Franklin of Wren High.
Kate Sears of Watauga High, one of three women going to ACC schools, is one of the women in the North Carolina Girls’ squad. Other players include Caitlyn Jones of Rolesville High, Gabby White of Seaforth High and Tionna Pettus of Bessemer City High.
The South Carolina Girl’s team includes Tamia Watkins of Andrew Jackson High, Chi’Nya Isaac of Lower Richland High, Skyla Tuthill of Ashley Ridge High, twin sisters Molly and Emma Daugherty heading to Abilene Christian University and Michaela Fairwell of Dutch Fork High.
The games will also give all proceeds from purchased tickets back to the community. All funds will go to the SECU Family House, a facility providing family accommodations and loved ones of Novant Health patients.
The games will be held on March 22 and begin at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here for $10 for adults and $5 for children and students.
