Police records say a football player at a Southern California Catholic high school was harassed and sexually assaulted by his teammates. A report by the Santa Ana Police Department says a student “is now experiencing anxiety” after an alleged assault at Mater Dei High School. The alleged August 2021 incident was reported to a coach, according to police. Mater Dei’s football program has produced three Heisman Trophy winners, most recently University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, who won in 2021.
