WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is inviting artists to submit to the upcoming ninth annual ARTfall Juried Art Show and Sale set for Oct. 18-26.
The show will be open Oct. 18-19 (Friday-Saturday) and Oct. 21-26 (Monday-Saturday) with an artists award presentation set for Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the center. Awards will be given for first, second and third place, along with honorable mention and people’s choice. Cash prizes total $525.
Artist Benjamin Billingsley will be the judge; he earned an MFA from UNC-Greensboro, has taught art classes at Cape Fear Community College, curated a museum exhibit and exhibited work in several countries.
“Only original artwork completed within the last two years will be considered for exhibition. Original artwork is the artist’s sole creation and is not, in whole or in part, a copy of any other person’s work or photograph. Preference is given to artists from the Lower Cape Fear region. The deadline for submissions is September 25, 2024,” a HBHUSO/CAC announcement states.
