H2GO issues Stage 1 Conservation Alert

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer H2GO has issued a Stage 1 Water Conservation Alert as of Wednesday, June 12.

The conservation alert is sent when water demands reach 80% of the system capacity over a 7-day rolling average. Excessive customer irrigation over the past several weeks has nearly doubled demand on the Brunswick County water system.

Spray irrigation is restricted to no more than two days per week, including numbered addresses will limit irrigation to Wednesdays and Sundays. Odd-numbered addresses will limit irrigation to Tuesdays and Saturdays.

For properly managed southern turf grasses, 1 inch of water per week is enough, per H2GO.

You can visit H2GO’s website for water conservation and to see voluntary and mandatory water restrictions by their Water Shortage Response Plan.
