ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (WECT) – Abdul Jabbar Tucker, a 39-year-old from Bladenboro, was arrested in Bladen County on Monday, Aug. 19.
Per the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, he was identified near Gill Street in Elizabethtown; he had felony warrants for his arrest and was entered as wanted by the state prison system.
Bladen County and state officers arrived at his home to arrest him.
”Tucker was instructed several times by law enforcement to lie down and place his hands behind his back at which time Tucker refused and began fleeing on foot. After a very brief foot pursuit, Tucker was apprehended without incident inside a nearby abandoned home,” a BCSO announcement states.
He was transported to the county jail and served with outstanding warrants, including obtaining property by false pretenses and probation violation(s).
Tucker was entered as an absconder from the prison system and is still at the jail under a $40,000 secured bond as of Thursday, Aug. 22.
