WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WECT) – Four area high school basketball teams are still alive and playing for state basketball championships this week. Men’s teams from New Hanover High School and West Bladen High School are in the Final Four of their respective classifications, along with the women’s teams from Hoggard High School and East Bladen High School. New Hanover and Hoggard are the top-seeds in their brackets, while West Bladen is seeded fourth and East Bladen is the seventh seed.
The semifinal and final games will be played this week at Lawrence Joel Coliseum on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.

Tuesday – 1A Women’s Final Four
4:00 p.m. 1A East Final: (1) Perquimans v. (7) East Bladen
8:00 p.m. 1A West Final: (1) Bishop McGuinness v. (2) Cherokee
(Winners play Friday for championship)
Wednesday – 4A Men’s Final Four
2:00 p.m. 4A West Final: (3) North Mecklenburg v. (13) Chambers
4:00 p.m. 4A East Final: (1) New Hanover v. (3) Sanderson
(Winners play Saturday for championship)
Wednesday – 4A Women’s Final Four
6:00 p.m. 4A East Final: (1) Hoggard v. (2) Wakefield
8:00 p.m. 4A West Final: (1) McDowell v (2) Lake Norman
(Winners play Saturday for championship)
Thursday – 2A Men’s Final Four
4:00 p.m. 2A East Final: (3) Northwood v. (4) West Bladen
8:00 p.m. 2A West Final: (1) Reidsville v. (15) Bandys
(Winners play Saturday for championship)
The games will be broadcast on the NFHS Network, which requires a subscription.
