PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Austin Kelly, a former bus driver with Pender County Schools, has been convicted for sexual battery.
Per the District Attorney’s office, he was convicted on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on one county of sexual battery by Judge Noeker and sentenced to 10 days active (two now and eight later), 18 months of supervised probation and to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
He was ordered to have no contact with children unless they are related by blood.
The appeal period has not passed, so the conviction could still be appealed to Superior Court.
Kelly was arrested on May 15 in connection to sexual battery alleged against two students.
