WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – As a high pressure ridge stays in control over the Carolinas, your First Alert Forecast features mostly sunny and mainly dry skies through Saturday. Temperatures will be seasonable through the weekend with toasty daytime highs in the upper 80s and overnight lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Your First Alert Forecast highlights slowly increasing rain and storm chances this weekend with slim 10% odds Saturday, and 20% Sunday. Isolated showers and storms become more likely Sunday night into Monday.
In the tropics: Hurricane Ernesto is on track to impact Bermuda late Friday night and early Saturday morning, and parts of eastern Canada are even in Ernesto’s National Hurricane Center forecast cone at days four and five. The storm’s swell will increase surf heights and elevate rip current activity at all Cape Fear beaches this weekend. Make sure to stay near a lifeguard if you’re planning on swimming!
