WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Your First Alert Forecast flips to a period of not zero, but lower, chances for showers and storms to start the new work week: 30% Monday, 30% Tuesday and 40% Wednesday. More sun will equal more heat in this period, with daily high temperatures likely getting deep in the 90s… and heat index values around a stressful 105 with a few spots near 110. Stay rested, hydrated, and neighborly!

A change in the weather pattern late week will bring temperatures back down to the upper 80s and rain chances back up to round 50% once again.

In the Tropics, the National Hurricane Center notes new Atlantic tropical storm development does not appear likely in the week ahead.
