WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Hurricane Ernesto made landfall in Bermuda early Saturday morning and brought brining heavy rainfall and winds to the island. Ernesto is now slowly pulling away from Bermuda. As Ernesto impacts Bermuda, it will continue to cause turbulent waters along the East Coast of the United States. Here in the Cape Fear, expect high rip current risks and swells along all area beaches through the weekend. Make sure to stay near a lifeguard if you plan on swimming!

Your First Alert Forecast features plenty of dry time this weekend with slim rain and storm odds at 10% tonight and 20% Sunday. Thunderstorm chances spike to around 50% Sunday evening and night. A few could be on the heavy or strong side. Make sure to stay cool in the hot sun as highs will remain summery in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Overnight lows will provide some relief with temperatures sinking into the 70s.
