WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Stay alert for an enhanced rip current risk by this weekend as Hurricane Ernesto tracks toward Bermuda. Through that time, your First Alert Forecast stacks several low rain chance days, which should help area rivers continue to slowly fall. Low dew points should make for a fresh feel for much of the rest of the work week, all while giving room to nighttime and daybreak temperatures to fall as low as the 60s. Afternoon highs will rise into the seasonable upper 80s.

As we head into the weekend and early next week, look for humidity levels to spike to more normal levels. Isolated showers and storms return to the mix next week.
