First Alert Forecast: dry for now; increasing chances for rain expected by late week

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – TODAY: Skies will gradually brighten up throughout the day as clouds thin out overhead. Temperatures will top out close to normal in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds are expected to be a bit breezy at times as well with gusts up to 25-30 MPH out of the north. Tonight, temperatures are forecast to cool down to the middle and upper 30s under a mostly clear sky.

TUESDAY: Tuesday’s forecast will be a beautiful one as high pressure builds in across the region. We’ll see highs back in the lower 60s tomorrow afternoon with plenty of sunshine to go around.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Expect temperatures to gradually trend warmer as the week goes on. By late week, we should be back in the lower 70s as winds flow out of the south. This warm-up will be out ahead of another unsettled weather pattern. Chances of showers and thunderstorms will increase beginning Friday through the weekend. Additional details on timing will come closer to time.
