First Alert Forecast: Beryl lashes Texas, seasonably hot and stormy at home

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Hurricane Beryl made its final landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast Monday. In the days ahead, its rainy remnants will round a hot high pressure ridge and punch into the Mississippi and Ohio valleys. As the Cape Fear Region will stay more or less under the ridge, expect seasonably hot days in the 90s, steamy nights in the 70s, and isolated to scattered, briefly heavy storms. The surf should maintain lower and middle 80s and a low to moderate baseline rip current risk. Thankfully, new tropical storm development appears unlikely across the Atlantic Basin for at least most of the week ahead.
