WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Rain has really come on across the Cape Fear Region in July: most spots have recorded between five and ten inches and there’s still about a third of the month to go. Your First Alert Forecast maintains chances for locally drenching showers and heavy storms of 60% Monday, 40% Tuesday, 50% Wednesday and Thursday, and 60% Friday. Temperatures ought to remain seasonable with upper 80s and lower 90s common in the days; middle 80s seem more plausible for Friday. Nights and showers will cool things down to the 70s.

New tropical storm development is unlikely across the Atlantic Basin in the next few days.
