Former ‘Real Housewives’ star’s son slashed in jailhouse fight

November 3, 2019 By Dan Cain

The troubled son of a former “Real Housewives” star was brutally slashed in the face, new video footage shows.

Josh Waring, son of “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Lauri Peterson, fought a shirtless and heavily tattooed attacker at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana, on Oct. 9, in a prison surveillance video posted Saturday to TMZ. In the footage from earlier this month, Waring was on his way to his cell when he was jumped by the inmate who had razors wrapped in a towel. Waring suffered injuries to his face and chest, getting 20 stitches, TMZ reported.

The brawl lasted for more than a minute, and moved off-camera, stopping only when guards rushed onto the scene. Waring, who was charged with three counts of attempted murder after a 2016 shooting at a flop house in Costa Mesa, is awaiting trial. He maintains his innocence.

Waring’s attorney told TMZ that he was returning to his cell in the protective custody unit of the jail after making a phone call when he was attacked by another inmate. Waring’s lawyer, Joel Garson, said that the attack could be in retaliation against Waring for filing a federal lawsuit against Orange County and its Sheriff’s Department for violating his civil rights while he has been in jail.
