‘Days of our Lives’ star John Clarke dead at 88

“Days of Our Lives” star John Clarke died last week at age 88 from complications of pneumonia, a rep confirmed to Deadline Monday.

He passed away on Oct. 16 in Laguna Beach, California.

According to Deadline, the actor suffered a stroke in 2007 and his health had been declining ever since.

Clarke was known for his role as Mickey Horton on the long-running soap opera. He played the part for 39 years, from 1965 until his retirement in 2004.

‘MAUDE’ STAR BILL MACY DEAD AT 97

In 1979, he was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series, and received the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.

“Days of Our Lives” writer Ryan Quan tweeted on Tuesday, “RIP original Days cast member John Clarke. His Mickey Horton was such an important part of the show’s history… an almost 40 year run. He’ll be missed.”
