GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – East Carolina University police say they investigating the rape of a student in a college dorm.
A campus alert says they were made aware of the sexual assault last night around 11:30 p.m. The alert says the rape happened in Tyler Hall back on September 30th.
There was no explanation as to why there was nearly a month delay in the crime being reported.
A crime report listed it as a second degree forcible rape and that it was an open investigation.
The alert says the university has also received reports of the same person “inappropriately touching two different victims at off campus parties earlier this month.”
ECU’s list of on-campus crimes also shows a second degree forcible rape at Clement Hall that happened late Monday afternoon. No campus alert was issued for that crime, and it also remains an open investigation.
