WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Waffle House location in downtown Wilmington has permanently closed, according to a sign posted to its window.
“It is with great sadness to say that we are CLOSED PERMANENTLY. It has been a pleasure serving ALL of you!” the sign reads.
The building may be ordered to be vacated and closed by the city due to issues including cracked walls, rotted floors and windows and more. For another business to use the space, it must be brought up to city standards. The case is set to be heard by the city council on Sept. 17.
