WECT’s Scott Pachilis found out about Milton Canady after recognizing him as a recurring character in the 1990s sitcom “Home Improvement” and later discovering he was from Wilmington.

Milton Canady died in 2013. His sister Wanda Canady-Wheeler sat down with us to talk about Milton’s childhood in southeastern North Carolina and his Hollywood resume, which remains undocumented to this day.

The interview series includes archival footage of Canady’s stand-up comedy routine, a clip of him surprising his mother on a nationally syndicated daytime talk show, and footage of him appearing as a contestant on multiple 1990s dating shows.

We hope you join us back here multiple times this week and we shine a light on the life and career of Milton Canady.
