WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Dark Horse Stages held a grand opening for two new stages.
These new stages add more than 40,000 square feet of production space to Wilmington’s film scene.
In an announcement, Dark Horse Stages says each stage is 20,000 square feet, adding to the existing 42,500 square feet of stages one and two. The new soundproof stages are 55-feet tall with a 45-foot to-grid height. They are built with 12-inch thick concrete walls and a soundproof roof.
The new stages are also equipped with 2400 amps and a live load capacity of 500,000 lbs. Dark Horse Stages also added an advanced HVAC system to recirculate the air within the stage in less than 60 seconds.
