NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Crews are responding to a large brush fire Friday morning, Aug. 23, according to a New Hanover County Fire Rescue representative.

Per NHCFR, crews were dispatched at 10:40 a.m. to the 12-acre fire, located near U.S. 421 and I-140.

Firefighters on scene say that no structures are threatened by the blaze. The North Carolina Forest Service has been contacted.
