BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Multiple fire departments responded to a rollover crash near 400 Sweet Home Church Road at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Per the Elizabethtown Fire Department, initial reports said that three people were trapped including an infant, and that the car was on fire.
“We quickly confirmed that this was the only person in the vehicle and there was no fire. An extensive extrication of the patient began which required all hands. All agencies worked tirelessly to free the patient in under 25 minutes. This was a very complex incident and a job well done by everyone involved,” an EFD announcement states.
The person trapped in the car was transferred by EMS to a hospital. EFD Station 55, Town of White Lake Fire Department, Bladen County Emergency Services and deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
