MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A five-year-old girl has died after being pulled from a pool last month, according to an official.

Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said the girl was pulled from a pool at the Sea Crest Resort on June 22 and died at a hospital the following day. Willard added the child was from Pineville, South Carolina.

WMBF News has reached out to the coroner’s office to find out why the information was only released Wednesday, over a month after the incident occurred.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating.
