WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) – It’s all the buzz—students going back to school after summer break—some going for the first time. Victoria Gore, a first-grade teacher at Williams Township Elementary in Whiteville is hoping to put a little honey in her classroom by providing her students with bee-themed supplies. She’s asking for donations to buy them through DonorsChoose, an online charity that helps teachers get funding for school projects.

“My school is located in a rural low-income area and supplies are limited,” Ms. Gore says. “This Buzzing Back to School project will include school supplies for my students as they buzz into first grade. Just think, on the first day of school, what better way to get them excited than by having a bag full of goodies on their desk? This will include bee-themed stickers, bracelets, keychains, and pencils. I love each of my students and want them to have a passion for learning.”

Ms. Gore needs $553 to buy all of the items. Once she is fully funded, DonorsChoose will purchase the materials and deliver them to the school.
