COMMUNITY CLASSROOM: Teacher needs help with back-to-school supplies for students

HALLSBORO, N.C. (WECT) – Alicia Worley knows exactly what she wants for her students once school begins. But the first grade teacher at Hallsboro Artesia needs help buying the supplies. She’s asking for donations through DonorsChoose, an online charity that helps teachers get funding for school projects.

“The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a home,” Ms. Worley says on her DonorsChoose page. “In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! We love a clean, fresh classroom and some of these items will help keep our room tidy! The paper, markers, journals, headphones, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may use their creativity in the classroom. The whiteboards will be offered to students, so they may work where they are comfortable.”

Ms. Worley needs $564 to get all of the items on her list. Once she is fully funded, DonorsChoose will purchase the materials and deliver them to the school.
