WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners is set to hear updates on the New Hanover Community Endowment, discuss funds for a school district study, and more at its meeting on Aug. 19.
NHCE Chair Bill Cameron and Vice-Chair Shannon Winslow will give the presentation, though the details of that presentation have not yet been added to the meeting agenda. Similarly, the presentation for the stormwater services update has not been added to the meeting agenda as of the writing of this story.
The NHC Board of Education is asking the county for $300,000 to conduct an analysis of the facility needs at New Hanover High School. The analysis would identify and prioritize needed repairs and estimate the costs associated with the repairs. It is expected to take six to nine months to complete.
The funds would come from interest earned in past years from a special revenue fund of the county. If approved, the county will allocate those funds so the district can move forward with the study.
The full meeting agenda is available on the county’s website.
