COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 13 asked for assistance in identifying the owner of a red SUV connected to the theft of catalytic converters.

The sheriff’s office says that about 20 catalytic converters have been stolen on Border Belt Drive from the Border Belt Tobacco Research Station and N.C. Department of Agriculture Office in Whiteville.

“We urge anyone with information about this vehicle or its driver to come forward. If you saw this vehicle in the area or have any details that could assist in our investigation, please contact the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 642-6551 or send us a message through our Facebook page,” a CCSO announcement states.
