State of Emergency and mandatory curfews in Brunswick County & Southport

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – Leaders in Southport have declared a State of Emergency because of the impacts of the storm system that came through the area Monday morning.

County officials has issued a curfew for the unincorporated areas until Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6 a.m. due to significant flooding. Residents and visitors are advised home or at a safe location until the curfew is lifted and road conditions are improved.

Authorities have also instituted a mandatory between the hours of 9:00 p.m. tonight and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
