WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Cape Fear Community College has announced its new Career Pilot Program to meet the demand for aviation professionals and future commercial pilots.

The program will offer its first two courses of History of Aviation and Pilot Instrument Ground School. The History of Aviation course will provide individuals with a comprehensive overview of air transportation, including potential career paths. The Pilot Instrument Ground School course will focus on covering all necessary topics to prepare students for the Federal Aviation Administration instrument written test.

“We are excited to launch the Career Pilot Program and to provide our students the opportunity to enter a field that is growing rapidly and critical to our local and national economies,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “By offering a comprehensive and accessible pathway into an aviation career, we are equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.”

An information session for students interested in the Career Pilot program will be held on Thursday, September 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in room 387 in Union Station.

Enrollment for these courses is now open and more information about the Career Pilot Program can be found here.
