CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Carolina Beach Mural Project has announced that Natalie Robinson will be the artist to create the project’s 20th mural later this year.
The “Fly High” mural will be on all three sides of the Sea Colony elevator shaft at 1311 Lake Park Blvd. S., celebrating the native wildlife to the dunes and shoreline of Carolina Beach.
“Natalie’s design includes dunes featuring American Oystercatchers, Least Terns, Piping Plovers, a Great Egret and a Snowy Egret. Depending on whether the viewer is driving north or south, various elements of a typical glorious Carolina Beach sunrise will greet commuters and island visitors, reminding them of the beauty that lies just behind the condo building,” a project announcement states.
Robinson earned a degree in graphic design from UNC Greensboro and has been commissioned for projects by Amazon, Nike, Champion and others, she has made murals and residencies with work showcased in New York City, Miami, Buenos Aires and Argentina.
Robinson is set to start work in September and October, and an artist meet and greet fundraiser will be held later.
