SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – Drivers in Southport dealt with road closures Sunday morning, Sept. 1, because of a car fire.

The Southport Fire Department says crews responded to the fire on NC 211 near West Trace Drive. On arrival, one car was found to be fully involved in the fire in the travel lane.

Lanes in both directions were closed for about 20 minutes while crews brought the fire under control.

The fire department says no one was hurt.
