WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – State Highway Patrol received a call about a car accident around 9:30 pm on Saturday.

The incident happened on US 117 South near Ashton Road in Burgaw.

Officials confirmed that one vehicle crossed the center of the road and crashed head-on with another car.

We’re told all three people involved in the crash were sent to a nearby hospital.
