CASTLE HAYNE, N.C. (WECT) – Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is holding a check presentation next week from a $25,000 grant.
According to a press release from CFCC, the Duke Energy Foundation is awarding 19 community colleges with $500,000 to support students attending electrical lineworker training programs.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Duke Energy Foundation for this $25,000 grant, which will allow us to expand access to career exploration opportunities for students who need them most,” said Jim Morton, CFCC president. “By partnering with local schools and community organizations, we will bring our virtual reality career exploration program directly to students, focusing on those in underserved areas of Pender and New Hanover counties.”
The presentation will be held on March 24 at 10 a.m. at CFCC’s BB&T auditorium in Castle Hayne.
