BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Voters in Brunswick County can receive “I Voted” and “Future Voter” stickers designed by local students during the upcoming general election, according to the county school system.
Per Brunswick County Schools, all K-12 public, private, charter and home school students in the county were able to participate in the design contest.
“The first-place designs will be printed for the upcoming General Election this fall and voters can look forward to receiving their stickers when voting in the Presidential election. In addition, the Brunswick County Board of Elections plans to offer the competition in future presidential election years,” BCS states.
Mirabelle Donovan, an eighth grader from Leland Middle School, won first place in the “I Voted” contest with a design that takes a literal approach to the phrase. For the “Future Voter” sticker contest, Celine Tendo, an eighth grader from Shallotte Middle School, won with their patriotic design.
