BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Brunswick County is set to host its ReadyBrunswick Preparedness Expo on Saturday, June 15, according to a county announcement.

“This family-friendly event is free to attend and will feature over 20 local organizations that are ready to help prepare you for local hazards and threats, guide you and your family in developing an emergency plan, and teach you about organizations that can assist with recovery needs,” the county states on its website.

The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brunswick County Government Center at 30 Government Center Drive NE.

“There will be free Sunset Slush Classic Italian Ice, popcorn, cotton candy, survival kits for children, and many handouts related to emergency preparedness and recovery. Activities include an inflatable obstacle course, children’s bike course to learn about common road hazards following a storm, a vast display of rescue vehicles, and more!” the county adds.
