BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners approved funds for a sheriff’s office program and other items at their meeting on Monday, June 17.
Property owners in Brunswick County will pay the same tax rate for the next fiscal year according to the approved budget, keeping the tax rate the same at 34.2 cents per $100 of property.
The budget, which includes a budget ordinance, capital improvement plan, and schedule of fees for FY25, will be in place from July 1 through June 30, 2025.
Commissioners also approved using more than $700,000 in opioid settlement funds for the sheriff’s office to implement the Arrow program. The program is designed to provide treatment for inmates in the Brunswick County Detention Center who suffer physical and mental disorders related to opioid use.
