BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Bladen County Board of Commissioners on Monday is set to talk about $1 million for school projects and the ongoing drought.

The school district is looking for $1 million in funding from the county for various projects. These include $36,805 for musical instruments lease payments, $197,450 for digital signs, $229,785 for final billing on interior paint at West Bladen and East Bladen, and $569,926 for tennis court reconstruction at East and West Bladen.

Due to the ongoing drought, the commissioners are set to sign a resolution asking the state and federal government to make a disaster declaration to help farmers cope with the loss in returns. A similar resolution was passed earlier in the day by the Pender County commissioners.
