$72,000 donated to Brunswick Community College basketball program
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Brunswick Community College (BCC) men’s basketball team received a generous donation over the weekend.
After finishing their regular season with a 17-0 win, two residents donated $72,000 to the Foundation in BCC to help support the Dolphins. The funds will go to providing more opportunities for student-athletes in the basketball program.
“The Stanley brothers, lifelong Brunswick County residents, took center court to surprise the team with their generous gift, which was accepted by BCC President Dr. Gene Smith and Foundation Executive Director Teresa Nelson,” BCC wrote in a press release.
The Dolphins are preparing for the 10-D1/Atlantic District Tournament as the number one seed, advancing to the semifinals at Catawba Valley Community College on March 14.
“The BCC Dolphins—and the entire college community—extend their deepest gratitude to Joe, Moe, and everyone who contributed to this monumental gift. Their generosity is helping shape the future of BCC Basketball, and their legacy of giving will inspire athletes for years to come,” BCC wrote.
