CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WRAL) — Bill Belichick is due to receive a five-year, $50 million contract for his new role as North Carolina’s football coach.

Each year, Belichick is due to earn a $1 million base salary and $9 million in supplemental income. The first three years of Belichick’s contract are guaranteed.

Belichick can terminate his deal with UNC on June 1, 2025, if he pays the university a buyout of $1 million. It would cost Belichick $10 million if left UNC before June 1, 2025.
