WALLACE, N.C. (WECT) – The 1865 Society of Pender County has announced its annual Christmas Gala will be held later this month.
Proceeds from the gala will support the 1865 Society’s efforts to preserve local heritage, promote education, and empower the local community.
The gala will honor three community figures for their dedication and impact.
“These honorees exemplify the spirit of service, leadership, and commitment to community that the 1865 Society stands for,” said Karen Malloy, president. “We are thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments and contributions at this year’s gala.”
The honorees are the following:
- Clifton West of the Willard Outreach Center will receive the Rising Star Award.
- Prentis Bannerman of Prodigy Movement will receive the Rising Star Award.
- Dr. Johnny Batts will receive the Living Legacy Award.
The gala will be held on Dec. 20 at River Landing. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the event begins at 6 p.m.
Guests will enjoy fine dining, entertainment, and fellowship. Comedian D Wissh will host the gala, and Vibe Band Muzik will provide live music.
Tickets are $100 per person or $105 for online purchases, and reserved tables of 10 are $1,100 or $1,140 for online purchases.
