NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 17-year-old boy and charged him with second degree murder after a killing Tuesday night, Aug. 6.
According to the NHCSO, deputies responded to 812 Greenbriar Rd. to a stabbing report and found another 17-year-old with knife wounds to his chest. The NHCSO says that the suspect was also found and placed into custody.
The 911 call for the incident indicates that one of the people on the call stabbed them.
“He tried to fight me and I told him don’t put his hands on me,” the caller said.
“Sir, did you stab him?” the dispatcher replied.
“Yeah,” the caller said.
The victim was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The sheriff’s office is holding the teen at the juvenile detention center.
